There’s nothing better than being able to just throw everything into the slow cooker in the morning, go to work and come home to the smell of your dinner filling the house.
A slow cooker is a great investment, you can make your meals in large batches and just put it in the fridge or freezer for when you next want it.
Ingredients
- 900g braising steak
- 4 medium potatoes, large cubes
- 3 large carrots, large slices
- 3 medium parsnips, large slices
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 oxo in 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 tin oxtail soup
- 1tsp dried herbs
- salt and pepper
- 1tbsp soy sauce
- 1thsp plain flour
Prep: 5 minutes Cooking Time: 7 hours Total Time: 7hrs 5 minutes Serves: 4-6
Method
- Layer the potatoes, carrots and parsnips at the bottom of the slow cooker, then the braising steak.
- Sprinkle the flour evenly over the steak.
- Layer the onion on top with a sprinkle of herbs
- Pour on the oxtail soup, oxo water and soy sauce.
- Add seasoning
Cook on high for 2 hours then low for 5 hours. Stir after 3-4 hours. It’s as simple as that!
