Christmas 2015 my sister bought dad a chilli plant and a few months back he finally got round to planting it. We started to lose hope it would ever grow until we saw a tiny green chilli starting to grow. Now it’s covered, so chilli recipes here we come…!

Ingredients

  • 1 red pepper, large dice
  • 1 garlic clove, diced
  • 2 red chillies (depending on your heat preference), fine dice
  • 1 onion, small dice
  • 300g leftover beef or fresh, small strips
  • 2 sachets stir fry sauce of choice
  • 2 cups cooked rice with a few splashes of soy sauce

Prep: 10 minutes       Cooking Time: 15 minutes       Total Time: 25 minutes       Serves: 4

Method

  1. In a large frying pan, heat a tablespoon of oil and add the garlic clove, onion, pepper and chilli and cook until soft, if using fresh steak strips add along with these ingredients.
  2. If using pre-cooked meat, add once ingredients have softened, warm through and add the rice.
  3. Pour over the sauce sachets and serve!
